What people come in for
What Lip Filler Is Asked For
Volume
Lips that were always thin, or that have thinned with age. How much is your decision, made in the room with a mirror rather than from a photograph.
Shape and Definition
Definition around the lip border, a clearer cupid’s bow, and proportion between the upper and lower lip. This is where most of the work is.
Asymmetry
Almost everybody is asymmetrical and most people have never noticed their own. Where it bothers you, it can usually be evened up.
Fine Lines Around the Mouth
The vertical lines that appear on the upper lip. Sometimes filler, sometimes skin treatment, sometimes both. You will be told which.
Hydration and Structure
Lips that have gone flat and lost their definition rather than simply their size. This is the most common reason people over forty book it.
A Lip Flip Instead
If you want a subtle change without adding any volume at all, a lip flip is a different treatment that lets the upper lip roll gently outward. It is covered on the lines and wrinkles page.
How it works
Proportion First
A lip that is correct on its own can be entirely wrong on the face it sits on. That is the single most common reason lip work looks obvious, and it is almost always a proportion problem rather than a volume one.
So the assessment starts with your face, not your lips: the relationship between upper and lower, the width against your other features, where the border has softened and how your lips move when you speak and smile.
What You Can Expect to Be Told
If the honest answer is that a smaller amount would look better than the amount you came in asking for, that is what you will hear. If what would actually help is chin projection rather than lip volume, which is more often the case than people expect, you will hear that too.
Nothing is done on the day of your consultation. You go away, think about it, and come back.
What Is Used
A hyaluronic acid gel chosen for lips specifically. Softer and more fluid than the firmer gels used for structural work on a jaw or chin. Products are CE marked and kept sealed until you are in the room.

Decide this before you are in the chair
How Much Is Up to You
Move between the three briefs. Watch the border and the cupid’s bow, not the size: that is where a lip is made or lost.
Barely there
Nobody Will Know, Including You at First
A very small amount, placed to restore the border and rehydrate. People notice that you look well rather than that anything has been done. This is where most people over forty should start, and a great many stop.
Your Lips, on the Best Day They Ever Had
Shape and proportion corrected, definition back at the border, a little volume where it has been lost. Visible in a photograph, invisible as a treatment. This is what most people mean when they say they want it to look natural.
Deliberate, and Clearly a Decision
More volume and a stronger border, still built to your own proportions. It reads as a choice, and that is entirely legitimate, as long as it is your choice, made with a mirror in your hand.
Afterwards
What Happens, and When
01 Straight after
Swollen, and That Is Normal
You will see the shape immediately, but your lips will be swollen. Some people bruise. A clean, cool compress helps. Never put ice directly on the skin.
02 Days 1 to 3
The Peak
This is when lips look considerably fuller than the final result, and it is the point at which people panic. Do not judge anything yet. Sleep with your head slightly raised, skip the gym and alcohol for 24 hours, and do not book anything important.
03 Week 2
Your Actual Result
The swelling has gone and the filler has settled. This is when the result is judged and adjusted if it needs to be. You come back and are looked at.
04 Months 6 to 12
It Fades
Lips move constantly, so they metabolise filler faster than anywhere else on the face. It fades gradually and you decide again from there.
Before you decide
Is This Right for You?
Tick anything that sounds like you. Nothing is recorded, and nothing here is a diagnosis: it is the conversation you would have in the room, started early.
Tick what applies and you will be told where that leaves you.

Lindsay’s Own Clients
Shared with their permission. Every face is different and results vary; nothing here is a promise of yours.

Lip filler for a lip that had flattened and lost its border. The lines above the mouth soften as the lip comes back.

Shape and proportion rather than volume: a fuller lower lip, an even border, and less gum showing on a full smile.
What it costs
Lip Enhancement Prices
The right product and amount are decided at consultation. Most people need less than they expect, and you are never charged for more than is used.

Questions People Ask
Not if it is done properly and in proportion. The lips people notice are almost always over-filled or out of proportion with the face, and both are avoidable.
Noticeably, for the first two or three days. Lips swell more than anywhere else treated, and it looks alarming before it looks right. Plan around it.
Lips are the most sensitive area treated here, so they are numbed beforehand and the product itself contains a local anaesthetic.
Usually six to twelve months. Lips fade faster than anywhere else because they never stop moving.
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if there is ever a reason to, and that is part of what is explained to you before you consent.
No. Consultation first, then a gap, then treatment. That is how this clinic works.
